Weekdays at 11 AM and 2 PM

Guard Session hosted by Martin Block

Martin Block hosts a fifteen-minute radio show called Guard Session. First airing in 1962, the show was a throwback to Block’s Make Believe Ballroom, Guard Session was broadcast as if it was taking place in a recording studio. Each show typically features one singer and an accompanying band. The format allows for two National Guard commercials and four tunes by the respective performers.  The original shows were highly scripted and somewhat corny, typical for Martin Block. By the end of production in 1967 the show was less scripted and had looser format.
